SWR Doors & Awnings, located in Hemel Hempstead, recently worked on a charming early 20th-century home, Spring Cottage, just down the road from our showroom. The property boasts a spacious garden perfect for outdoor living. The owner, Mr Kehoe, wanted to enhance the area with features that combined style, comfort, and functionality.

Having already installed bi-fold doors, raised decking, and a Jacuzzi hot tub, Damien envisioned a sheltered al fresco dining area with a safety barrier for the elevated platform. After researching local companies, he came across SWR and was impressed by our strong reputation and positive reviews. A visit to our showroom helped him finalise his vision.

To provide weather protection and create a private outdoor retreat, Damien selected the Markilux 210 Pergola. This large-scale awning features slimline posts for a clean, contemporary look and an automated cassette system that retracts the fabric with ease. Its spacious design was ideal for covering the raised decking without being intrusive. For added privacy and sun protection, Damien also chose the Markilux Shade Plus Vertical Awning as an optional extra.

To ensure the highest standard of installation, specialist teams were scheduled to fit the pergola and balustrades on separate dates. Both projects were completed on time and met Damien’s exact requirements, seamlessly blending style and practicality.
