MODERN HOME GETS VERY MODERN IMPROVEMENTS
The Jays recently built their dream home, designed by award-winning architect Richard Mitzman, with a strong focus on environmental responsibility. Their passive house is highly energy-efficient, powered entirely by electricity, and features a heat recovery system and a living roof that insulates while absorbing rainwater and lowering air temperatures.
To complement their home’s eco-friendly design, the Jays needed well-insulated front and garage doors. Having worked with SWR before, David Jay trusted us to provide the perfect solutions. After visiting our showroom, we recommended the Hörmann Thermo46 Entrance Door for its excellent thermal insulation, achieving a UD-value of up to 1.1W/(m²K). The Jays chose a Golden Oak finish for a natural look.
For the garage, the Hörmann LPU 42 Sectional Door was ideal. Its double-skinned design offers top-tier insulation, further enhanced by an optional ThermoFrame connection. Security was also a priority, and the BiSecur radio system ensures the garage door operates safely, with encryption technology preventing unauthorized access.
